Brazilian berry is known as Euterpe badiocarpa and Euterpe oleracea in English. It belongs to the palm family. The tree is slender, up to 15-25 meters tall, with a trunk diameter of about 10-15 centimeters. It blooms brown and purple flowers, and the leaf sheaths are red. Mature Brazilian berries will turn from green to purple, and are about 1-2 centimeters in diameter, with each grain arranged in each leaf sheath.

A large number of research results show that the fruits of acai berry mainly contain anthocyanins (ACNs), proanthocyanidins (PACs) and other flavonoids. After analysis, anthocyanidin-3-glucoside and anthocyanidin-3-rutinoside are the main anthocyanidin components. The total content of anthocyanins is 3.1919 mg/g (DW). The total content of anthocyanidin glycosides is 12.89 mg/g (DW).
2. Polyphenols
The fruits of acai berry also contain a variety of polyphenol compounds. Contains 94mg/kg of vanillic acid, 62mg/kg of syringic acid, 52mg/kg of p-hydroxybenzoic acid, 36mg/kg of catechin, 5.9mg/kg of ferulic acid, and 4.8mg/kg of (+)-erucic acid.
3. Other ingredients
The fruit of acai berry also contains fatty acids, sterols, amino acids, polysaccharides, minerals, etc. Polyunsaturated fatty acids, monounsaturated fatty acids and saturated fatty acids account for 111.1%, 60.2% and 28.7% of the total fatty acids, respectively. Among them, oleic acid accounts for 60% of the total fatty acids, palmitic acid accounts for 22%, oleic acid accounts for 12%, stearic acid and other fatty acids account for 0.6% of the total fatty acids.
